Types of Massage
Swedish massage is the most common massage style. using basic techniques of long gliding strokes, kneading and rolling. This is tailored to each client based on their specific needs
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic massage that targets the deeper layers of muscle to relieve chronic tension, muscle pain, and stiffness. Using slow, firm pressure, this technique helps break up tight muscle knots, improve circulation, and restore mobility. It’s ideal for people experiencing back pain, sports-related tension, or long-term muscle tightness.
Lymphatic massage is a light pressure massage technique that helps move your lymphatic fluid since it doesn’t have a muscular pump like the heart. This technique can be applied to other massages. For example a Swedish massage can be modified to follow the direction of your lymphatic collection ducts.
Prenatal massage benefits mother and child simultaneously. Caution is taken during the first trimester and evaluated on a case by case basis. Mothers carry weight both emotionally and physically those pressures can affect the health of their child. Majority of the massage will be in the side lying position where we cradle and cushion mom and baby in a position that allows for smooth blood flow, unblocked lymph, and optimal skeletal alignment.
Reflexology
Reflexology is the use of pressure techniques while following the map of the nervous system and the body. Its helps relax the nervous system and allows the body to reach homeostasis. The zones in which reflexology is used are the feet, hands, and ears.
Myofascial Release Massage
Myofascial Release Massage is a specialized therapeutic technique that focuses on releasing tension in the fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds muscles throughout the body. Using slow, sustained pressure, this treatment helps relieve chronic pain, reduce muscle tightness, and improve flexibility and mobility. Myofascial release massage is ideal for clients experiencing persistent tension, restricted movement, or discomfort from stress, injury, or repetitive strain.
