3 Private Intro sessions

$250.00

To join our small reformer classes, you must first complete three mandatory sessions designed to ensure safety, alignment, and an effective experience in a small-group setting.

  1. Private Introductory Assessment (55–60 minutes)

  • Purpose: Evaluate your movement history, postural alignment, any injuries or contraindications, and current fitness level. This helps the instructor recommend appropriate class intensity and necessary modifications.

  • What to expect: A brief intake questionnaire, movement screening (standing, supine, hip and shoulder mobility), and guided instruction on basic reformer setup and transitions.

  • Outcomes: Personalized notes in your client file and clear recommendations if ready to join group setting

  1. Reformer Foundations Session (55-60 minutes)

  • Purpose: Teach essential reformer mechanics, breathing and core engagement, safe use of straps and springs, and common exercise progressions used in small classes.

  • What to expect: Hands-on practice of foundational exercises (footwork, pelvic stabilization, core integration, shoulder mechanics), cueing for alignment, and supervised repetitions so instructors can confirm movement competency.

  • Outcomes: Instructor sign-off that you are prepared for small-class pacing and group instruction, plus targeted cues or modifications to follow during classes.

Scheduling, Fees, and Exemptions

  • Scheduling: All sessions must be completed before joining small reformer classes. They can be booked back-to-back or on separate days depending on availability. Must complete all sessions within 2 weeks.

  • Exemptions: If you have recent, verifiable reformer training within the past 6 months at another studio and can provide documentation or a video demonstration of foundational skills, you may be eligible for an expedited review instead of 3 sessions. Final approval rests with Ilene

Preparation and What to Bring

  • Wear form-fitting, breathable workout clothes (no zippers or bulky hardware). Grip socks are required.

  • Bring a short list of any current injuries, surgeries, or relevant medical history.

  • Arrive 10 minutes early for check-in and to complete any remaining intake forms.

If you’d like to schedule your mandatory sessions or confirm eligibility for an exemption, contact the studio for available times.
