Duet session single
A duet session at Perfectly Balanced Pilates is a bespoke, partner-focused workout designed for two people who want personalized attention with the social and motivational benefits of training together. It blends individualized instruction with synchronized and complementary exercises so each participant progresses safely and efficiently.
What to expect
Pre-session check-in: Brief discussion with the instructor to review goals, movement history, injuries, and any modifications needed for each client.
Warm-up: Joint mobilization and controlled breathing to establish connection to the breath, alignment cues, and core engagement.
Paired programming: A carefully sequenced plan that alternates solo work, mirrored movements, complementary partner exercises, and shared apparatus use (reformer, Cadillac, chair, small props). Exercises are selected to address each person’s needs while maintaining flow and rhythm.
Individual attention: The instructor provides real-time hands-on cueing and verbal adjustments for both clients, ensuring alignment, timing, and safe load progression.
Communication and facilitation: The instructor guides partners on pacing, timing, and how to support one another when appropriate (e.g., providing resistance, balance challenge, or tactile feedback).
Cool-down and integration: Gentle stretching, breath work, and movement patterns that synthesize gains in mobility, strength, and coordination.
Brief wrap-up: Review of progress, homework or targeted exercises to practice between sessions, and notes on any adjustments for future classes.
Who benefits
Couples, friends, or training partners who want a shared fitness experience with expert guidance.
Clients seeking cost-effective, semi-private instruction without compromising personalization.
Individuals who thrive on social accountability or who benefit from tactile feedback and partnered mechanics.
We can pair you up with a partner if you do not have someone
Session logistics
Typical duration: 50–60 minutes.
Capacity: Two clients plus one instructor.
Equipment: Reformer-based duets are common, but sessions can incorporate Cadillac, Wunda Chair, springs, barrels, small props, and mats depending on goals.
Intensity and focus: Fully customizable—rehabilitative, postural, athletic, or mobility-focused sessions are all possible.
Result A duet session delivers targeted improvement in strength, mobility, and movement quality, enhanced by the motivation and camaraderie of training with a partner and the precision of one-on-one coaching.
